India started becoming the best in the world on this very day many years ago i.e. 25th June 1983. India won the World Cup by defeating the West Indies, who were the most powerful team at that time. No one thought that India would reach the final of the World Cup. But the Indian team did this under the captaincy of Kapil Dev.

In the year 2011, on this day on April 2, the Indian cricket team won the World Cup after 28 years. Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the architects of the Indian team's victory in the final match. Dhoni's six in the final will not be forgotten by any Indian fan. India needed 4 runs off 11 balls to win and Dhoni clinched the World Cup with a six.

Another important source is title sponsorship. We have seen various titles and names used as prefixes since the inception of IPL.

Ticket sales are also an important source of income for local teams in that city or state.

Suppose the match of Mumbai Indians is held at Wankhede Stadium then that stadium is called Mumbai's home ground. And the proceeds from the ticket sales for that match are distributed to the Mumbai Indians and the ground management of the Wankhede Stadium.




Merchandise Sale

Selling merchandise associated with the team is also a source of income for the team. Every team tries to capitalize on its popularity and for that, they try to sell their products like t-shirts, caps, wrist watches, etc. IPL teams also earn some money from this.



Stall Rent

Different types of stalls are set up during IPL matches from which the team owners earn money in the form of stall rent. Another way to earn money is by renting a stall.

Now we know how these IPL teams earn income in various ways. But as much as these teams are earning, so are their expenses. Their biggest expense is that each team has to pay 50% of its total profits to the BCCI. Which is the source of BCCI's income.

 

Apart from that, the team has to pay players' fees, coaches' fees, salaries and payments of support staff, travel expenses, hotel rates, and operational expenses. It also has to spend on advertising which is organized by the teams to get sponsorship from various brands and attract the audience.
